Transitional Employment Memberships

According to the U.S. Department of Labor Statistics, 15.3 million persons were unemployed in the United States as of April 2010. Specifically, the state of Kentucky is currently realizing double-digit unemployment rates. In response to this situation, the University of Kentucky Alumni Association has established a fund to supply a limited number of complimentary Transitional Employment Memberships to its alumni who are presently unemployed. Alumni who receive a Transitional Employment Membership can utilize the benefits and access made available to members to take advantage of career services, networking opportunities, and discounts.

Here are just a few ways in which unemployed alumni can maximize use of their transitional employment membership:

Career Services

  • Individual career advising and assessment via telephone, e-mail or in person.
  • Online job search.
