The University of Kentucky Alumni Association’s Greater Louisville Club will again hold a Pre-Game Pep Rally prior to the UK-UNC Asheville game at Freedom Hall on Monday, Nov. 30. The Pep Rally will be held at the Kentucky Exposition Center’s West Wing from 5 to 7 p.m. The game starts at 7 p.m.
The Pep Rally – sponsored again by Louisville-based telecom service provider Lightyear Network Solutions – will feature fun, food and festivities for the entire family. Last year’s event drew around 3,000 fans.
The bash will include UK’s Cheerleaders, Dance Team, Pep Band and Wildcat Mascot, in addition to music, a basketball-toss game, free face-painting, video highlights, door prizes and more.
The first 2,000 fans at the event will receive a free UK flashing button, courtesy of Lightyear, a communications company founded and based in Kentucky.
"Our local UK Alumni Club is pleased to once again host a fun and exciting Pep Rally prior to the Cats taking on UNC-Asheville," said club president Jeff Ashley. "With all the excitement surrounding this year’s team and new Coach John Calipari, we are expecting a huge turnout."

At the Pep Rally, there will be a variety of food and beverages available for purchase. A cash bar will be set up.
