The UK Legacy Initiative
The UK Alumni Association’s Legacy Initiative builds upon the loyalty, tradition and big blue spirit among prospective students, current students and alumni. The Legacy Initiative enhances benefits of membership, encourages high school students to attend the University of Kentucky, provides social and developmental opportunities to students and creates and maintains communication with students and parents.
The Legacy Initiative provides benefits to the children of UK graduates who are members of the UK Alumni Association. Click here to register your child or update your child's Legacy record.
Definition of UK Legacy
Any child whose mother, father or step-parent has earned a baccalaureate, graduate, doctorate or professional degree from the University of Kentucky and whose parent or step-parent is a member of the University of Kentucky Alumni Association.
The UK Legacy Initiative Includes:
1) Future Wildcats
During different stages of childhood (birth through 18 years of age), legacies will receive gifts from the UK Alumni Association to remind them that they are a part of the UK family. Gifts will be mailed to the address of the UK Alumni Association member that registered the legacy. In order for legacies to receive each gift, the UK Alumni Association member must stay current with their Association dues. All legacy gifts are age appropriate and therefore cannot be retroactive.
2) Legacy Students
Once enrolled at UK, Legacy students will have the opportunity to take part in special events and programs.
3) Legacy Tuition Program
Enables the children of graduates of UK who live out of state and meet certain criteria, including UK Alumni Association membership, to attend UK at discounted tuition rates.
