The University of Kentucky proudly joins the rest of the nation in honoring and saluting our military veterans on this Veteran’s Day.

Generations of UK’s students, faculty, staff and alumni have nobly served our nation. UK has a long-standing relationship with the men and women who serve our country – from our roots as land grant university that taught military tactics to our recent designation as a 2010 military-friendly school by G. I. Jobs magazine. This year marks the return of the University of Kentucky Military Veterans of America (MVA). After a 60 year absence from campus, student veterans re-formed the group as a way to connect with fellow veterans at UK. The organization aims to foster the education, retention, and support of military veterans throughout their pursuits at the University. To watch a video about that program, click here.

In addition, we have established The Veterans Resource Center to continue that tradition of support by providing UK's military and veteran populations with the service and assistance they deserve.

On behalf of the University, I thank our veterans as well as members of the UK family currently serving in the military for their tireless service and dedication to preserving and protecting the many freedoms that we hold so dearly.
