Chris Bradley recently transitioned from Associate Professor of Chemistry at Mount St. Mary's University, a small undergraduate institution, to a position at the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE). At DOE, Chris serves as a program manager for the Catalysis Science program in the Office of Basic Energy Sciences. This entails managing a $45 million portfolio of grant funding awarded to university and national labs which pursue fundamental research related to scientific challenges in chemical and biological catalysis.

John M. Williams received the Fayette County Bar Association’s 2017 Citizen-Lawyer Award at the Fayette County Bar Association Law Day Celebration and Luncheon on May 1, 2017. This award is given annually in recognition of distinguished civic activity and exemplary legal services to clients, the community and the bar. Mr. Williams is a member of the Lexington law firm of Rajkovich, Williams, Kilpatrick & True, PLLC.
Adolph Duane Schwartz, class of 1964/67 died on Jan 7, 2017. He donated his brain to the Sanders-Brown Center for Aging.

Like Edgar Rice Burroughs, Dr. Michael Sanford was born in south Chicago.During high school, he moved to Kentucky and then completed his education at Vanderbilt University and the University of Kentucky School of Dentistry. While practicing for 40 years in the Bluegrass state, Michael and his beautiful wife, Sharon, enjoyed raising their children, Darek and Devon. Now retired, they spend time in Kentucky and Florida, where he enjoys reading, playing the piano, gardening, art projects, and finally writing this first novel. Laura Hromyak Hendrix was recently appointed as the General Counsel to the Kentucky House Speaker's Office. She was previously the General Counsel for the Kentucky Legislative Research Commission, and the General Counsel for the Kentucky Legislative Ethics Commission. She is a 1992 graduate of the University of Kentucky College of Law, and a 1989 graduate of Washington University in St. Louis. She and her husband, Doug, reside in Frankfort with their son, Cooper. Their daughter, Sydney, is a freshman at the University of Kentucky, while daughter Madeleine is a junior at the University of Louisville.

Malcolm (Mack) R. Mathews 111,M.D.,'73 AS is Board Certified Medical Oncologist and practicing Hematologist at the Regional Cancer Center Indian Path Hospital in Kingsport, TN. He is Fellow American College of Physicians and Associate Professor ETSU Department Internal Medicine. He practices garden variety community based Medical Oncology & Hematology,including Thrombosis and Hemostasis, both in patient as well as out patient.
Jennifer Patterson Fisher (AS, 2005) and her husband Ryan welcomed the addition of a beautiful baby boy on September 22, 2016. James Arthur (Jack) Fisher was born at Inova Alexandria Hospital in Alexandria, VA. He weighed 7 pounds, 12.5 ounces and was 20" long. The family currently lives in Springfield, VA.

Ashley L. Sievers was chosen the 2016 Middle Tennessee Counseling Association High School Counselor of the Year. She presently serves as a school counselor and department chair at Wilson Central High School in Lebanon, TN. She is a past president of the Middle Tennessee Counseling Association.

JOSEPH K. DRAKE '62 AS was recently presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Kentucky Chapter of the American Physical Therapy Association. He was Director of Rehab Services at St. Joseph Hospital for 35 years and served on the volunteer faculty at the U. of Ky. School of Physical Therapy before retiring to Brevard, N.C.

Rebecca Barker Vest '87, has been named Vice President Corporate Development & Social Responsibility for Nissan North America effective April 1, 2016. Responsibilities include all OEM partnerships, 4R Battery Business unit, Internal Audit & Corporate Social Responsibility (Philanthropy, Diversity, Environmental). She was named to the UK Gatton School of Business Alumni Hall of Fame in 2015.

Prior to this from 2011-2016 she served as Vice President Purchasing/Region Purchasing head North America for the Renault Nissan Purchasing Organization. Responsibilities spanned all purchasing activity for the US, Mexico, Canada along with supplier quality, project management, supplier relations and others. Previous to this position she was Director, Powertrain Purchasing. She joined Nissan in 2009, after a 22 year career at Toyota. Vest and her husband live in Brentwood, TN with their two sons.

Motorists Insurance Group, an affiliation of 11 companies doing business in 22 states, is pleased to announce that Randall E. Norris was recently promoted to the position of Senior Litigation Specialist in the Litigation Services Department at its headquarters in Columbus, Ohio. In addition to managing complex litigation filed against its insureds and affiliated companies, Norris also provides general counsel services to Motorists Life Insurance Company. He has been with MIG since 2007. He received his B.A., summa cum laude, from Western Kentucky University (1978) and J.D. from the University of Kentucky College of Law (1982) and is admitted to the Bars of Kentucky, Ohio and Virginia. During his career, Mr. Norris also previously served for 16 years as Assistant Jessamine County Attorney and as a Judge Advocate in the United States Navy, attaining the rank of Lieutenant Commander.

John T. (J.T.) Ice '94 BA, '04 MA, a member of the U.S. Foreign Service, was recently posted to U.S. Embassy Dakar, Senegal, where he is serving as the Political Section Chief. Previously, J.T. has served in San Jose, Costa Rica; Lilongwe, Malawi; and Kabul, Afghanistan. Most recently, he served in Washington, D.C., in the Office for Southern European Affairs in the Bureau of European Affairs at the U.S. Department of State. J.T. is accompanied by his wife, Andrea, and two daughters, Providence and Liberty.
