“A commitment to serving others in your community”

As alumni of the University of Kentucky, we exhibit the loyalty of being Wildcats in our daily lives and demonstrate success, ambition, determination and spirit for UK in everything we do.

As we work to enhance the lives of others, we bring together our love for UK and commitment to community by giving back. Cats for a Cause, the UK Alumni Association’s National Service Week, is an example of this commitment to serving others in our communities who are less fortunate.

What is Cats for a Cause?

One week each fall, UK alumni across the Commonwealth and around the country show their Wildcat spirit and give back to their local communities through the Cats for a Cause National Service Week program. Started in 2008, this annual event has grown to include more than 30 alumni clubs and close to 500 volunteers annually.

Inspired by an annual day of community service for UK students known as FUSION (For Unity and Service In Our Neighborhood), the Cats for a Cause program provides a meaningful engagement opportunity for not only alumni, but their friends and families.

Clubs are encouraged to partner with local charitable organizations, schools and churches to identify a service activity to enhance their community and the lives of others.
