Paint the Town Blue
Campus Windows, University of Kentucky

Walk around campus during Homecoming week to see these creative paintings! Student organizations participate in a window painting competition, creating murals that coincide with the Homecoming theme, “Going the Extra Mile.” Come to campus and take a look!


Banner Competition
William T. Young Library, 401 Hilltop Ave.

Campus organizations will paint banners to hang in W. T. Young Library and be judged on how well the mural coincides with the Homecoming theme “Going the Extra Mile.” Stop by the library to see these beautiful banners during Homecoming week!

DanceBlue 5k

The DanceBlue 5K is an annual run/walk race that students, faculty and anyone in the Lexington community are invited to participate in. The event raises money and awareness for the Kentucky Children’s Hospital DanceBlue Hematology/Oncology Clinic. Registration for the run/walk will be available online in the fall.

Started in the ’80s by Delta Sigma Theta sorority, the Mr. and Ms. Black UK scholarship pageant later became a collaborative event with the Black Student Union. It’s an opportunity for educational development and advancement, but also an opportunity for minorities to showcase their talents and represent the diversity at UK.
