Saturday, Oct. 18

Paint the Town Blue Painting
8 a.m. (Sat.) through 8 a.m. (Mon.), Various off and on campus locations
$20 participation fee for paint supplies. Paint pick-up is on Friday, Oct. 17 from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. in the Student Activities Board Office in Room 204 in the Student Center.

Mr. and Miss Black UK

The Black Student Union and Delta Sigma Theta host this pageant where UK’s most outstanding students compete for the crown and title of Mr. and Miss Black UK. $3 with canned good, $5 without a canned good, tickets available at the door.

The Homecoming Royalty competition honors distinguished students who have excelled in bettering the UK and Lexington community and are well-rounded representatives of the University. This year we are excited to introduce a new segment of Homecoming week at the University of Kentucky, a Royalty Showcase. As a result of a showcase, we hope to see students genuinely get to know contestants on Homecoming court and how they exemplify qualities of leadership. This year we are eager to see students of many different backgrounds represent their perspective organizations through Homecoming royalty.

Kitty Karnival

Kitty Karnival features small carnival games created by student organizations for children to come and enjoy on campus. This event has become a UK and community tradition that both students and children love to attend! This event welcomes local schools, UK Alumni Family and UK Faculty, Staff and Student families.

Class of 1964 & Golden Wildcat Reunion Reception and Dinner
5:45 – 11 p.m., Hilton Downtown Lexington Hotel, 369 West Vine Street
Enjoy an elegant evening of dinner and recognition as members of the Class of 1964 receive their pins and are inducted into the Golden Wildcat Society. After dinner, enjoy a time of reminiscing with fellow Golden Wildcats.

Homecoming Pep Rally & Street Festival
6- 9 p.m., Wildcat Alumni Plaza
Help us to kick off Homecoming at the Wildcat Alumni Plaza located off Avenue of Champions, directly across from Memorial Coliseum! In addition to other activities, there will be appearances by UK cheerleaders, dance team, and the UK Pep Band. The Homecoming Royalty Court will also be announced and present. Food will be available for purchase.

Catch all the racing action while enjoying a buffet lunch in one of Keeneland’s best locations. Situated high atop the grandstand, the Lexington-Kentucky Room offers a view overlooking the track.

The University of Kentucky’s National Pan-Hellenic Counsel presents its annual Step Show, Friday, Oct. 24 at Memorial Coliseum located on the University’s campus.

College of Medicine Kentucky Trifecta CME Session and Open Board Meeting
8:30 – 10 a.m., BioPharm Complex, Rm. 124, 789 S. Limestone
UK Healthcare has a “trifecta” of national federal funding. We are one of 22 medical centers in the United States that have earned the Clinical and Translational Science Award; received NCI Designation for our Cancer Center; and have an Alzheimer’s Disease Center. Experts will discuss the importance of this “trifecta.” Participants will earn one hour of CME Credit. A continental breakfast will be served.

Current medical students and College of Medicine staff will guide tour participants through the New Pavilion at UK Albert B. Chandler Hospital. Highlights will include the Emergency Department, new patient floors, the Gingko sculpture, the Myra Leigh Tobin Chapel, Surgery Waiting area, the Don and Cathy Jacobs Health Education Center, and the “Celebrate Kentucky” wall. The tour will also highlight current Medical School classrooms.

Homecoming Royalty Crowning and Wildcat Cup Winner Reveal
Halftime of Game, Commonwealth Stadium
Homecoming Royalty will be announced during the Homecoming football game. The Court goes through two rounds of difficult judging focused on academic and involvement at UK and in the community before a student vote decides the new King and Queen.

The Wildcat Cup is a Homecoming spirit and participation competition for all student organizations. Student organizations can attain points through participating in numerous events throughout Homecoming Week. Winners in multiple categories will be announced as well as the overall winner for Homecoming 2014.

Farewell Breakfast

The DanceBlue 5K is one of Homecoming’s newest traditions. DanceBlue is a student-run philanthropy, which raises awareness and funds for the DanceBlue Kentucky Children's Hospital Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Clinic. Come be a part of the 5K to learn more about these brave children and families and run for the kids!
