The University of Kentucky Alumni Association through the generous donations of Alumni, sponsors several scholarships for undergraduate and postgraduate students on a yearly basis.
Additional information on Association and Club scholarships can be obtained by contacting the UK Alumni Association at 1-800-269-ALUM.
There are three types of scholarships funded by alumni donations:
Association Scholarships
Administered by the UK Alumni Association Scholarship Committee, the minimum requirements for UK Alumni Association Scholarships are a GPA of 3.0 and an ACT score of 22. The application for these scholarships can be found on this page and the deadline to apply was February 12, 2013. Recipients are chosen in the spring of each year and notified in May.
UK Alumni Association Scholars
The UK Alumni Association holds a scholarship in the Office of Academic Scholarships called the UK Alumni Association Scholars. This scholarship has the following criteria:
- Applicants must be a currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate student at the University of Kentucky with a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher.
- Applicants must be a student member of the UK Alumni Association.
- Applicants must have a parent or guardian who is a University of Kentucky graduate and a member of the UK Alumni Association.
If you meet all of the above criteria, you will automatically be selected as a scholarship candidate and will be entered into a pool with all other students meeting the standards listed above. You will be notified by the Academic Scholarship Office if you are selected to become a UK Alumni Association Scholar.
Alumni Club Scholarships
The Alumni Club scholarships are managed by individual UK Alumni Clubs and are available to students living in the Club's geographic area. This year, there is no separate application needed for a student to be considered for a club scholarship through the Office of Academic Scholarships. Any student who applies to the university will be automatically considered for the appropriate club scholarship available to students from their home area. If returning students are eligible to receive the club scholarship from their home area, they do not need to apply separately either – each eligible student will be automatically considered.
The selection process is handled by the Academic Scholarship Office. Click here for more information.
